"The inside perspectives that we were exposed to as students in the Greenhaven program made the course particularly memorable. In addition to the conversations we were privileged to with the incarcerated men, we also heard from guards and counselors. The sum of all of these perspectives left me with a much more complete picture of the prison system than I could have gotten otherwise. There were some preconceptions that I brought to the program that I had to rethink, and others (about the guards for instance) that were confirmed. These personal interactions really make the course as great as it is."
